About the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association

Founded in 1949, the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association is an organization committed to helping its members conduct business and ensuring the continued strength of the real estate finance industry and mortgage lending field. We possess a steadfast dedication to promote ethical business practices and integrity-based lending. We continually strive to help our members provide superior financial loan services to residents of Maryland and expand homeownership statewide.

On an on-going basis, the association provides our members with useful and informative continuing education programs, workshops, conferences and seminars to help them grow in their careers. We serve as an advocate for the mortgage banking industry, constantly staying abreast of key legislative and regulatory issues at the state and local levels while representing the interests of our members. We have retained a professional lobbyist skilled in the legislative process who works diligently in Annapolis on your behalf. We are your voice.

In addition, membership in the MMBA offers mortgage bankers across the state of Maryland an important network of contacts to help members gain insight and comradery among industry leaders that also share their experiences and challenges. Luncheon meetings and social events allow members a needed forum for the discussion of key issues as well as professional growth and development.  We also provide our members with vital information about the tools and trends they need to be successful and advance their business objectives.

Our Annual Membership Directory provides a comprehensive listing of each member company and designates key contact information within each firm. This invaluable resource helps to keep members connected with those involved in the mortgage lending industry. MMBA also publishes a quarterly newsletter to regularly communicate information about current association activities and industry topics, and features a comprehensive legislative report outlining state legislation important to the mortgage lending industry.

The MMBA’s affairs are governed by elected representatives of the membership serving as officers and directors, and managed by an Executive Director.
